Ria a young girl, who currently travels with Gran, a quiet and morose wandering knight. She wanders from town to town with no real purpose, only that she seems to be on the run from Etrius and eludes them by traversing the West Rim.
Ria has no permanent residence, as she spends her days wandering, she subsides on the kindness of strangers or otherwise camping outside of towns as she passes. She has been on the move for most of her life; she was admitted the West Rim Magic academy at the age of twelve where she befriended Rhymea Belmonde and boarded there for two years before being offered a scholarship at the Etrian School for the Protean for her exceptional prowess at traditional magic. She stayed there for slightly over a year, quickly befriending the shy Katrine "Trin" Merlone and the outgoing Lee Feiyin. She left the school under unknown circumstances and made her way out through non-legal channels out to the West Rim.
Ria has a large stone-like left arm, which extends various transparent blue blades at will. It's inhumanly strong and nigh-invincible, though Ria wields it as if it were completely weightless. She can't remove it, as it's attached to her at her shoulder, and she doesn't know how or why it's attached to her such. It has on occasion seemed to have a life of its own, protecting Ria in times of need. Ria also uses fairly advanced traditional magic, being one of the two best students at the Magic Academy, and likely the student with the most advanced magic at the Etrian School. She is able to shape magic and complete incantations at speeds and efficiencies most other students and even teachers find hard to follow.
Ria is outgoing and cheerful, but not to a point where she's spastic, optimistic without being unrealistic. She is confident and brave in the face of danger but will not rush headstrong into situations. She makes friends easily because of her personality and outlook on life, and she remains very loyal to all of her friends.
